Areas of Expertise:

Jane specialises in family law especially Ancillary Relief, Private and Public Law Children Act applications, TOLATA, and domestic abuse.  She has acted in a number of high value ancillary relief cases involving business and farming assets, and she represents Local Authorities, Guardians and family members in care proceedings.

Jane has a particular interest in domestic abuse matters and whilst practising as a solicitor she completed parts I and II of the domestic Violence Training days run by Women’s Aid.  She has also provided training for Women’s Aid on the Family Law Act 1996 and the Protection from Harassment Act 1997 and Court procedure relating to those statutes.

She also undertakes some general civil work.

General:

Jane joined Southernhay Chambers as a member in 2009. Before she transferred to the Bar she was a Family Solicitor for 8 years – firstly as an Assistant Solicitor and then from 2002 as Head of Department.  She was also Vice Chair of the North Devon and Torridge Domestic Violence Forum.

She is married with two teenage sons and enjoys walking, cooking and supporting her sons’ football teams.  She is also a Soroptimist.

Jane is a member of the Family Law Bar Association, and accepts publicly funded work in all areas of her expertise.
