Following her graduation in South Africa, Lauren spent time working as a paralegal in a Zimbabwean law firm and teaching music at Bishop McKenzie International School in Malawi prior to attending Durham University to read law. She undertook her Bar Vocational Course at Nottingham Trent University where she achieved a "Very Competent" in her diploma.
Lauren underwent a specialist family pupillage with
a former Head of Chambers before accepting a tenancy in 2002. Since then she has built a strong practice in
all areas of family law, including frequent representation of all parties across the spectrum in public law proceedings (care and adoption), intractable residence and contact
disputes, removal from the jurisdiction, domestic violence
and ancillary relief.
Lauren deals sensitively and compassionately with the emotional vulnerability of clients, whilst providing a professional service to both the lay client and to her instructing solicitor, with whom she likes to work as a "team".
She conducts seminars in the areas of family law in which she specialises.
She is a member of the Family Law Bar Association
and is happy to accept instructions under Public Funding Certificates. |
