Rupert has extensive experience in claims between cohabitees under TOLATA 1996, including cases involving issues of bankruptcy and mortgage fraud both at County Court level and in the Chancery Division. His practise also includes proceedings under the Inheritance (Provision for Family And Dependents) Act 1975 and proceedings in the chancery division in relation to family trusts.
Rupert has also advised in professional negligence matters involving solicitors and barristers, particularly those arising out of family proceedings.
In addition Rupert has developed an expertise in cases involving the Child Support Agency, regularly appearing in the Child Support Tribunals.
Rupert wrote a chapter on international jurisdiction in the recently published Jordans guide to Applications under Schedule 1 of the Children Act 1989 (financial support for children) and has given seminars on subjects including the CSA/CMEC, international enforcement of orders, and TOLATA claims. Rupert joined Southernhay Chambers in January 2011, having previously practiced from One Garden Court Chambers in London, where he was a pupil. He studied for his L.L.B. at the university of Exeter.
