Southernhay Chambers was established
in 1975. Since then it has steadily grown to become one of the leading
sets on the Western Circuit - renowned for its expertise in all
aspects of Family Law, personal injury, general chancery, landlord
and tenant, commercial, housing, local government, employment and
general common law at all Court levels. Over the years our policy
has remained one of gradual and carefully-planned expansion, so
that we may continue to provide the skilled services our clients
have come to expect of us. In 2005 we achieved the Legal Services
Commission's QUALITY MARK FOR THE BAR. |

We appreciate that many of our lay clients
are experiencing traumatic circumstances, and make every effort
to provide them with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Chambers
offers very comfortable conference facilities, but we are happy
to travel to any venue for the convenience of you or your client.
Although a substantial part of our work
is privately-funded, we remain totally committed to Public Funding,
and cover all categories under the Family Graduated Fees scheme.
We undertake Conditional Fee Agreements in all civil cases and also
provide a swift and economical service to all solicitors by giving
them preliminary advice on the merits of any case falling within
our areas of specialisation.
In 1996 we began a deliberate expansion of our
civil litigation work. We recognise that today's litigators expect
specialist Counsel who are dedicated to civil work, and our approach
to the modernisation of civil litigation is to offer our clients
genuine specialisation at all levels. |
